STP 09-26-2015: Hardly A Cloud

Another picture perfect fall day was recorded on Friday across Colorado. After a cool start in the 40s, temperatures rebounded nicely with high temperatures in the low-80s over the east and mid-80s across the west (higher elevations were of course much cooler). A stubborn morning low-cloud deck kept the far east cooler with highs there only in the mid-70s. Dry was also the theme of the day with dewpoint temperatures falling into the 20s and 30s over most locations, except a very narrow pocket of 50s in the Southeast Plains.

After a prolifically wet start to summer, conditions have been much drier lately for the state as a whole. It will be interesting to see what El Nino will bring for the state during the fall and winter months. Check out our Flood Threat Outlook on Monday for our 2015-2016 snowpack forecast!

Rainfall/flooding were not reported yesterday.
